What is a Tigernut?
Tigernuts are a tuber that comes from the root of the Cyperus esculentus plant (also called
chufa, tiger nut, atadwe, yellow nutsedge, and earth almond). It grows wild in some parts, but it
is mostly cultivated in western Africa and Spain.
How can I enjoy Tigernuts?
Tigernuts are super versatile. You can eat them dried, soaked or fresh. You can also enjoy
them in the different varieties of products we produce such as flour, sliced and milked. Visit

Are Tigernuts Fattening?
No. If they are enjoyed in the recommended portions, they can actually aid in weight control
due to their natural fibre and healthy fats.

What do Tigernuts taste like? Are they hard to eat?
The closest comparison of dried tigernut taste is chewy little coconuts. They produce a nice,
sweet taste as you chew. Unpeeled tigernuts can be chewy to come people. We peel our
tigernuts for best enjoyment. Another great trick is to soak them in water for an hour as that
gives them a more fresh and crunchy texture.
How do you achieve zero food waste?
We are committed to developing ways of eliminating food waste. This means that we will
develop products out of any remaining food items to ensure that nothing goes to waste.
This will be in the form of food, Pet, or animal food products.
Are your Tigernuts organic?
Our Tiger-Nuts are farmed organically in West Africa. Although we did not go through the
organic certification process and therefore, we cannot label it as “organic”.
